　　1. dirt-poor 极贫困的

　　例：Where would the dirt-poor Tom get a hundred dollars? 汤姆这个穷光蛋到哪儿弄一百美元去?

　　2. Max out credit card 刷爆信用卡

　　例：She has maxed out three credit cards. 她已经刷爆了三张卡了。

　　3. poor as a church mouse 一贫如洗(直译为穷的像教堂里的老鼠……就是一贫如洗的意思)

　　例：With his company doing bankrupt, he is now as poor as a church mouse. 随着他的公司倒闭破产，他目前已是一贫如洗。

　　4. be broken 身无分文

　　例：I'll be broke in two months. 我会在两个月内破产。

　　5. live from hand to mouth 勉强糊口，度日维艰(hand to mouth 现挣现吃，只能满足目前的需求，主要指食物方面)

　　例：They can only live from hand to mouth. 他们的日子是只能糊口。

　　6. not have a bean 囊中羞涩(一个豆豆没有，囊肿羞涩)

　　例：Most people in the area are unemployed and not have a bean to spend. 这地方的很多人都失业待岗，没钱花。
