　　accident n. (指交通，灾祸引起的)事故，灾祸、意外事件 traffic accident 交通事故 by accident 偶然地

　　After the traffic accident he lay in bed for a week, wating for his wound to heal.

　　交通事故发生后他卧床一周，等待伤口痊愈。

　　The old man was killed in the traffic accident.

　　这个老人死于车祸。

　　incident n.事件，事变(国际政治事件，事端或事变，也指可能会发展成战争等的政治事件)，如Xi'an Incident 西安事变

　　As the result of the incident the diplomatic ties between the two countries became severe.

　　这个事件的结果使两国之间的外交关系变得严峻起来。

　　8. accompanied by/accompanied with

　　accompanied by v. phase 在...陪同下,由...陪同,由...伴奏(被动形式)

　　The tourist were accompanied by the guide.

　　旅游者由导游陪同。

　　The singer was accompanied by music.

　　accompanied with v. phase 附加，兼有，具有(不是被动式，只是表示状态)

　　His cold is accompanied with fever.
