【AEIS考试讲解】AEIS英语教材中撇号的8个使用规则

　　对于AEIS备考，我们应该立足于新加坡AEIS考试大纲以及新加坡AEIS考试内容，做好最基础的复习工作。下面AEIS考试研究中心带大家一起学习AEIS英语教材中撇号的8个使用规则。

　　1. Own something?

　　1. 拥有某物?

　　Use's to show it: John's toilet.

　　用's表示：如John's toilet(约翰的厕所)。

　　If the name ends in s: Add another ’s after it: Chris's plunger.

　　如果名字以s结尾，后面加上's：如Chris's plunger(克里斯的活塞)。

　　Inanimate objects can also “own” something: Yesterday's rainbow.

　　无生命物体也可以“拥有”某物，如Yesterday's rainbow(昨天的彩虹)。

　　2. A group owns something?

　　2. 一个群体拥有某物?

　　Put'after the s: The BRI members' toilets.

　　在s后面加上'，如：The BRI members' toilets(生物研究所成员的厕所)。

　　3. The group doesn't end in s?

　　3. 群体不是以s结尾?

　　Add's: Children's potties.

　　加’s：如 Children's potties(孩子们的便壶)。

　　4. More than one owns the same thing?

　　4. 一个以上的人拥有同一件物品?

　　Add 's to the second one. John and Gordon's toothbrush.

　　在第二个人后面加上's。如John and Gordon's toothbrush(约翰和戈登的牙刷)

　　5. Letter not usually plural?

　　5. 通常不作复数的字母?

　　Add 's to make it plural: Cross your t's.

　　加上's将它变为复数：如Cross your t's(在字母t上打叉)。

　　6. Taking out letters?

　　6. 省略字母?

　　Replace with 's. Here is = Here's.

　　用’s代替。如Here is = Here's。

　　7. Is it it's or its?

　　7. 用it's还是its?

　　Use it's when you could say “it is”: It’s my toilet = It is my toilet.

　　当你说“it is”时用it's：如It's my toilet = It is my toilet(这是我的厕所)。

　　Use its for belonging to: The cheeky monkey pooped its pants.

　　从属关系用its：如The cheeky monkey pooped its pants(那只厚脸皮的猴子把它的裤子套上了)。

　　The pants belong to the monkey; you wouldn't say, “The cheeky monkey pooped it is pants.”

　　裤子属于猴子的，你不能说成The cheeky monkey pooped it is pants。

　　8. Is it you're or your?

　　8. 用you're还是your?

　　Use you're when you could say “you are”: You’re wrong = You are wrong.

　　当你说“you are”时用you're：如You're wrong = You are wrong(你是错的)。

　　Use your for “belonging to”: I can see your underwear.

　　从属关系用your：如I can see your underwear(我可以看到你的内裤)。

　　The underwear is yours, so it’s not “I can see you are underwear.” (Unless, of course, you actually are underwear)

　　内裤属于你的，你不能说成I can see you are underwear。(当然，除非你真的是条内裤)
